When building an office from scratch, it’s common for doctors to wade into technology purchases gradually but Dr. Parnam Mohanna and Dr. Dalia Georgy, actually did the opposite. Coming from a busy and vibrant corporate dentistry environment before they decided to build their own practice, the husband and wife owners of Complete Cosmetic Care Dentistry (CCCD) were able to formulate their ideas on how they would design their own practice when the time came. Their plan was to equip a new office with advanced technology right away so they could offer to their patients many treatment options right under their roof with doctors they already knew and with whom they were comfortable.

Today, CCCD offers cutting-edge services, including same-day restorations, implant dentistry, orthodontics and endodontics as well sedation dentistry and traditional general dentistry services. Since its opening, the practice has grown to more than 2,000 active patients and has earned revenue of more than $1.5 million! With equipment that includes the Planmeca FIT Restorative System, they have become a premier dental office that draws patients to their suburban location from larger cities, including Tulsa.

A picture of serenity, the reception area features soft wall colors, wall niches, and rich window treatments designed to soften the office’s clinical feel and relax patients when they arrive.

Patients love to be treated in an office that can provide multiple services without being referred to other dentists,” said Dr. Mohanna.

Dental Needs Met in Growing Area

When the doctors decided to set out on their own, the first step they took was to reach out to Henry Schein.

“We called Henry Schein Field Sales Consultant Aubrey Hildebrand to inquire about available office spaces,” remembered Dr. Mohanna. Mr. Hildebrand brought in Equipment Sales Specialist Chris Hamrick and together, they worked as a team throughout the entire project. “First, we sat down to talk about their vision,” explained Mr. Hamrick. “Then, together we met with a realtor and contractor. Once we found a lot in a growing area right off the highway, we started designing.” Henry Schein’s National Design Group, led by Derek Waldvogel, created the layout for the practice.

as well as patient comfort.

Outstanding Office Design from Inside to Out

The curb appeal of CCCD is magnificent. Its red-brick exterior is set off with columns in a lighter brick and large windows.

Inside, there is 2,700 square feet of pure serenity, with soothing soft-green walls and dark-brown furniture with deep bronze accents that carry through from the reception area to the operatories. Windows in the waiting area are topped with jewel-toned window treatments that pull in green and bronze tones to create a more soothing feel for patients.

Wall niches are carefully carved out to hold Egyptian-like statues and vases, adding to the relaxing ambiance. The reception area is complete with a dark-wood circular check-in desk, and internet station for patients to stay productive while they wait.

Investment in Equipment & Technology is the Key to Efficiency

With a large monitor that displays digital images and a comfortable decor, the consultation room helps patients gain a better understanding of their diagnosis and leads to higher acceptance of treatment recommendations.

Their practice is equipped with six operatories, which are divided by center consoles and features dark-brown cabinets and brushed-nickel hardware. After a VIP visit to Pelton & Crane, the doctors chose massage chairs and rear-delivery units as well as KaVo electric handpieces. The hospital-grade sterilization center sits prominently behind a full wall of glass, allowing patients to see the commitment their doctors have to every part of their care.

As beautiful as CCCD is, it is the investment in technology that has powered the doctors to such dramatic growth in such a short time. The office is fully digital and paperless, using the Dentrix practice-management system to tie all of the individual pieces of technology together into a powerful, integrated workflow. As you would expect, this technology-focused dental practice offers the diagnostic powerhouse of a cephalometric and cone beam 3D imaging system alongside the flexibility of portable NOMAD X-ray units and comfortable DEXIS sensors. Using Henry Schein Financial Services (HSFS), the doctors financed the Planmeca FIT Restorative System, the Instrumentarium OP300 3D imaging unit, and equipment for four of the six operatories. HSFS also extended them $50,000 of working capital. “Patients love to be treated in an office that can provide multiple services without being referred to other dentists,” said Dr. Mohanna, who noted that the doctors are known for their expertise in full-mouth restorations.

The practice lab is complete with a Planmeca PlanMill, which offers the doctors opportunities for same-day restorations.

Word-of-Mouth Marketing and Community Outreach Stimulates Additional Growth

By combining innovative dental treatments that cater to busy patient schedules, like same day restorations milled onsite, with a knowledgeable and kind staff, it’s natural that CCCD enjoys h3 growth and positive reviews. The doctors are intentional with their marketing, too, and there are dozens of glowing Google reviews that show the success of their efforts. Online word-of-mouth from these happy patients may be one factor that contributes to the 80 new patients Drs. Mohanna and Georgy welcome each month.

The doctors intentionally designed the sterilization center to sit behind a full wall of glass so patients could clearly see the investment made in their safety and health.

Another factor is the pair’s consistent commitment to bringing dental services to underprivileged and underserved members of their community. It’s estimated that each year, the practice donates approximately $18,000 in dental services, and they note that the new building is what allows them to offer that level of outreach.

As important as technology has been to the productivity of the office, they point to something they feel is more important.

“We’ve learned that staff is always the most valuable asset to our practice,” Dr. Mohanna noted. “Investing in this asset is the main key to our success.”

For anyone planning to upgrade or build a new dental office, Drs. Mohanna and Georgy offer other important considerations. Be sure you have a comfortable amount of working capital so you do not feel pressured at the onset when you are only treating a few patients and have limited cash flow. Research the market very carefully, be prepared, and get wholly involved in the process.

That advice has certainly served the doctors well. They are thrilled with their decision to own and build CCCD, and they love serving the growing community of Glenpool, Oklahoma.
