Driven to Excellence — A Dental Practice Design Experience

Over the years, we have heard many dentists ask the question, “What is my dental practice telling my patients?” With the help of Pelton & Crane and dental design expert Dr. Mark Tholen, 60 Chicagoland dental professionals are about to discover the principles of office design that will help answer that question.

As they sit in a conference room at the Chicago Marriott in Oak Brook, Illinois, in Pelton & Crane’s Driven to Excellence (DTE) dental office design course, these attendees are being exposed to the same office design principles that have helped thousands of dentists across North America achieve their office design dreams.

For the last five years, Pelton & Crane has partnered with Henry Schein Dental to bring dental professionals throughout North America to their headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina, and their West Coast showroom in Beaverton, Oregon. DTE is a two-day course featuring Dr. Mark Tholen, DDS, MBA, and author of the best-selling dental office design book, A Guide to Designing the Elegant Dental or Medical Office...The Largest Marketing Tool of Your Career. Dr. Tholen is also the former CEO of T.H.E. Design, one of the country’s leading dental-office design firms that has created over 3,000 offices across North American, Europe and Australia.

Pelton & Crane introduced a new one-day seminar in 2013. This condensed format, in partnership with Henry Schein locations throughout the United States, still provides key insights on office design in a full-day course. Dr. Tholen breaks down the office design process as he teaches techniques to increase office efficiency. Throughout the day, attendees can expect to gain insight and understanding on the office design process. They also participate in an interactive sessions and use financial calculators to help understand the impact of their improvements.

So, what does your dental practice tell your patients? As it turns out, your dental office is your strongest marketing tool, and the impression it gives patients directly correlates to your perceived quality of dentistry. If the office environment is congruent and consistent with the level of care proposed to the patient, the acceptance rate of treatment plans will dramatically increase. Furthermore, the importance of cleanliness and organization cannot be understated: These both directly correlate to the patients sense of trust.

Deciding to move forward with a new office design project can be stressful, and it is a decision that most dental professionals make only once or twice in their careers. Fortunately, taking the first step toward realizing your dream office has never been easier and more rewarding thanks to Pelton & Crane, who has partnered with Henry Schein Dental to bring you DTE.

In 2013, Pelton & Crane expanded their DTE program by partnering with local Henry Schein dealer centers and offering a full-day course in new locations throughout North America. These full-day events are highly engaging and informative for the entire dental team.
